An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a National Facilities Management provider who have a wealth of experience in Commercial Property maintenance. They are currently recruiting for a Facilities Operations Manager to provide operational leadership on one of their prestigious commercial maintenance contracts in York.

The role

  • Reporting to the Regional Contract Manager. the Operations Manager shall be accountable day-to-day to the relevant Client Contact.
  • Line Management responsibility for the M&E site team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors.
  • To ensure all PPM, Statutory and reactive tasks are issued to the engineers and completed in the required delivery to Contract KPI & SLA.
  • Ensure comprehensive records are maintained & in date.
  • Be accountable for the day to day running of the contract, manage material and comprehensive spends, deliver extra works and projects in line with the annual contract plan
  • Provide regular updates to the Regional Contract Manager on all PPM, reactive works.
  • Act as point of contact for nominated Subcontractors.
  • Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
  • Ensure a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contracts.
  • To ensure timely planning; delivery of site maintenance.
  • Ensure optimum staffing structures operate for the contracts.
  • To ensure Statutory Compliance
  • Manage all incidents & accidents that may require action in compliance with the company.
  • Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both client and Company health and safety policy and processes are effectively implemented
  • To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff and client staff.
  • To manage the finances on the contract in line with requirements, report to the Regional Contract Manager regarding justification on spends towards the P&L.

About you:

  • Substantial experience as a Senior Manager in Facilities Management Services
  • Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) or similar
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical and electrical or other Facilities management disciplines
  • Demonstrable experience of Health & Safety management (IOSH or NEBOSH desirable).
  • Competent knowledge of IT packages (Knowledge of Concept Evolution is desirable)
  • Demonstrable organisational, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable customer service skills
  • Substantial people management skills.
