Procurement Specialist - NHS - Surgical Theatres and Clinical Equipment

London

£40k - £50k + package

My client has one of the highest spends in the UK and are actively seeking to upgrade their surgical theatre and clinical equipment departments in an exciting period of transformation in which their procurement team will double in size and become far more strategic in their approach to procurement.

They are looking for a Procurement Specialist to fill this newly created position and be instrumental in the future of the procurement team, owning a spend of over £500m.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a rapidly growing procurement function, as well as experiencing the re-development of a procurement strategy, sourcing suppliers within the UK and Europe and managing relationships in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

More about the role -

  • Key involvement in creating the clinical procurement strategy and taking the lead on a portfolio of complex and high-value contracts for both the short, medium and long-term
  • Work with high-profile suppliers of world-class surgical and clinical items
  • Manage relationships established with suppliers both in the UK and Europe
  • Work closely with a Contracts Manager to ensure clients adhere to terms agreed in negotiations
  • Line-manage a Category manager in alignment with your strategy

It is essential that candidates have experience in purchasing clinical items such as radiology, orthopaedics, surgical consumables, machinery.

Other requirements -

  • An excellent communicator - oral and written
  • Able to work at a fast-pace and in a dynamic organisation
  • Confidence when managing and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience working within the OJEU framework
  • CIPS advantageous
  • Degree educated to 2.1 level or above
