Head of Procurement

A unique opportunity has arisen for a well know brand in Exeter that is going through an exciting Procurement Transformation and as a result is looking to hire a new Head of Procurement. This role will take full end to end ownership of all the category strategy while having a capable team of 8-10 people with the role reporting into the CFO. Procurement is seen as a business centre for excellence for commercial, contract management and relationship management and your aim is to continue to raise the profile of Procurement. The role will be managing the Procurement Team and helping in the next phase of the transformation as the organisation re-brands in 2020.

What the role involves

1. Managing a team of 8 - 10 direct reports and overseeing a multi-million-pound portfolio of spend across all categories.
2. Responsible for defining and executing the Procurement road map across the business.
3. Managing an overall spend of £500+ million.
4. Report to the CPO and have the chance to interact with the wider exec team in making critical commercial decisions as part of the short, medium and long-term strategy.

The person we hope to find

1. Proven team leadership experience.
2. A broad range of category management skills is required.
3. Ability to interact and influence senior board level stakeholders.
4. Ideally managed multiple contracts on a regional or international level.
5. Ability to work under pressure and be a self-starter is critical.
6. Be able to identify and implement negotiation strategies through a multi-function team.

You will be expected to support with the development of your Procurement team and help upskill them in category management best practice.
