The role

As the Head of Procurement and Contract Management for the SRA, you will be the face of Procurement, building strong relationships with senior management and committee groups. You will drive forward Procurement as a strategic, systematic and proactive function.

You will ensure that Procurement has oversight of all contractual relationships across the business, so that they are being managed and reviewed systematically and periodically. Having held a similar role previously you will possess significant experience of managing third party relationships; and with an astute commercial awareness, you will ensure that Procurement is able to derive best value from suppliers and deliver cost savings. You may also be taking the lead on high value or high-risk contracts and advising the business on contractual terms and their implications.

You will lead and manage a newly established team of 4 to work towards a shared vision and understanding of organisation goals. You will motivate and coach team members to deliver to their full potential and raise performance levels.

Being forward-thinking, you will ensure a systematic approach to the identification and management of current or future risks to the procurement function. You will also keep abreast of industry developments which could impact the procurement of goods and services at the SRA.

Successful integration of the procurement of IT goods and services into the Procurement function will be a key priority in this role.

What we are looking for

  • A proven leader, having led and developed a procurement function
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • A strategic thinker, able to set a vision for the function, and motivate the team to work towards it
  • Demonstratable expertise in supplier management and management of complex contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness, with excellent influencing and negotiation abilities
