Purchasing Manager

Category Manager, Facilities - Oxfordshire - £40k - £50k + package

My client has a growing portfolio of commercial and residential facilities which require maintenance and management. With their footprint spreading across the South East including Oxford, Reading and High Wycombe, they are looking for someone experienced in working end-to-end on procurement projects within the Facilities Management category including Waste, Catering and Cleaning.

The role will initially involve sourcing suppliers and negotiating appropriate SLAs in my client's favour, ensuring relationships are managed professionally. They are therefore also seeking a strong stakeholder manager to lead on negotiations.

The purchasing manager will:

• Identify, develop and implement procurement strategies for the category and its subcategories in line with the business' requirements and departmental objectives
• Develop appropriate KPIs or review mechanisms with which you will benchmark internal and supplier performance
• Coordinate and communicate within your category and with the wider procurement function, ensuring the overall procurement department remains world-class in its function
• Be involved in identifying and selecting appropriate vendors and suppliers to support the strategy's objectives

What is required?

• Strong background in purchasing and end-to-end procurement
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Record of delivering procurement projects on time and within budget - a CV demonstrating your ability for strong individual savings/cost avoidance
• MCIPS qualified or actively working towards
• Knowledge of tendering tools such as Ariba, SAP, Oracle
