Procurement Buyer - Construction

Senior Buyer, Construction (NEC) - Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Firm- Oxfordshire, North Hampshire - £45,000 to £45,000 + package

My client has won multiple contracts in the Oxford and Hampshire regions for large-scale projects in civils and infrastructure following successful bids for a number of multi-million pound contracts.

You will work closely with the central procurement function assisting with all end-to-end procurement projects undertaken and line manage a few junior buyers. Such projects will include materials and contracts for bridges, tunnels and railways.

The successful buyer will have a strong background working first-hand with NEC contracts with a background in either construction, infrastructure and engineering. Experience managing a small team will be beneficial to your application.

The role:

• Supporting end-to-end procurement projects for raw materials and subcontract services
• Engaging and advising stakeholders of all levels with progress updates on the status of projects
• Working closely across departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
• Negotiating terms with suppliers and subcontractors

Requisite qualifactions/experience:

• Previous experience of procurement in construction or engineering with a good working knowledge of NEC3
• Track record of negotiating contractual terms, tendering and contract management

Beneficial to your application:

• Stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of the OJEU framework
• Degree educated 2.1 and above
