Senior Procurement Officer - £43,662 - Progression

You will provide strategic and operational support to the manager for commissioning and procurement and lead tender exercises.

Responsibilities

Support the Manager for Procurement & Commissioning

Understand Current Stakeholder resources and identify additional resources internally and externally

Analyse spend

Provide guidance and advice in terms of regulatory, commercial advice and guidance to directorates for commissioning and procurement activity

Identify new approaches to developing and managing procurement areas in line with current legislation

Lead on higher value Procurement negotiations with suppliers

Experience required

Educated to Degree level

Experience of working in the Public Sector at a Senior level in relation to contracting, procurement and commissioning

Proven track record of commercial creativity

Demonstrate ability to manage commercial negotiations

Able to analyse, interpret, resolve and communicate complex business problems with a proven track record of improving commissioning outcomes

Strong IT skills

Supervisory and team leading skills
