Junior Manager Level job assisting with risk management and implementation in leading International Bank

Your new role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to step up from an associate/junior analyst position. This role requires a hands-on approach to support the management and implementation of the organisation's Credit, Operational and Risk Governance. You will have key interaction across the whole bank.

You will be based in the risk team and will be involved in a variety of functions within the operational risk and risk governance practice.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the Bank.
  • Risk assessment, which involves analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the operational risks impacting the business.
  • Risk evaluation, which involves comparing with the criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements, environmental factors, IBG policy and procedures and the Bank's management of similar risks historically.
  • Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, for example, to the LMB Risk Management Committee, UK Subsidiary Risk Management Committee and ensuring compliance with IBG reporting requirements.
  • Providing support, education and training to staff on Operational Risks, building awareness within the Bank.
  • Manage and support the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process.
  • Assist in tracking the Bank's Risk Policies against renewal timelines and provide management reporting on pending and overdue policies monthly.
  • To regularly review the Bank's overall risk assessment processes utilised in the LMBRMC's/UKSRMC decision making, ensuring both qualitative and quantitative metrics are used.
  • Ensuring action plans originating in the LMBRMC/UKSRMC and root cause analysis from incident reporting are monitored, tracked and implemented within agreed target dates.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Recent experience of risk management practises and regulations within the Financial Services
  • Good understanding of the UK Legislation specific to Risk Management practices.
  • Experience in working within a team and championing risk appetite.
