Transport Front Line Manager

This role is based on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern:
Working hours 18.00 – 06.00
Purpose of the role
As a Transport Front Line Manager you will be required to manage effectively and safely all aspects of the Transport Operation based at Brackley. Ensuring that all Livehaul and Distribution plans are achieved, allocating the correct cost effective and safest resource to enable this on time.
Your key responsibilities will include:
•Oversee and effectively manage the transport operation to include the management of all transport based systems (Tachomaster, Telematics and Jigsaw fuelling software) etc.
•Ensure all drivers complete a full debrief and the daily paperwork flow to include daily inspection of vehicles is completed to ensure compliance
•Monitor that all drivers download Tacho information at debrief
•Oversee that all operations are carried out in a safe and responsible manner and Health and Safety Policies and Standard Operating Procedures are properly managed and adhered to at all times
•Fully investigate and take appropriate remedial action for all accidents near misses or damage within the department and report appropriately
•Maintain the driver licence checks of Avara employees and agency drivers working on our behalf and completed in line with policy expectations
•Ensure that the welfare of the animals is always a priority and that all relevant legislation and our Birds in Transit policy is adhered to at all times
•Monitor the training and development needs of any subordinate staff ensuring they are identified and addressed, and contribute generally to the development of an overall learning culture within the company
What we are looking for:
•Proven track record in logistics and transport operations
•Health and Safety and Compliance responsibility
•High level of UK graphical knowledge
•Excellent organizational, written and oral communication
•Good team skills
