Are you a manufacturing site operations professional with a proven track record of achievement in directing teams to achieve outstanding results and profitability? The company are offering an excellent salary and benefits up to £70kpa plus 10% bonus and company car.

You will have site management experience and seeking that key next step on your career ladder to manage multiple sites (4 sites in Midlands and East Anglia). We are seeking a visionary, reactive hands on manager who can be instrumental in directing what is a very successful business for the next 15 -20 years and beyond. You will have tried and tested experience in implementing robust systems but also be ready to learn this business and develop with the role.

We are seeking an operations professional where is is essential that you have the business acumen and substantial experience in the control of supply chain, operations, sales, purchasing, manufacturing and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the Region is operating safely, productively and efficiently at all times
  • To identify and manage opportunities to improve the performance of the Region.
  • To manage the functions of the Regional Head Office including Logistics, Internal Sales, Central Planning, Purchasing and Stock Control.
  • To communicate, develop and foster a positive & progressive culture with the Region, encouraging teamwork and increasing business unit autonomy over time.
  • To influence and support the development of strategies to guide the Region on its journey.

You will act as the Regional Director Designate with key responsibilities for:

  • To assume overall responsibility of the Region in the absence of the Regional Director.
  • To provide robust leadership and direction to ensure the smooth and seamless operation of the Region.
  • To chair meetings as necessary to execute your duties.
  • To work closely with the Regional Director and the Financial Controller to identify opportunities to improve the performance of the Region.
  • To visit the sites regularly and work closely with the Plant Managers to identify other opportunities to improve the performance of the Region.
  • To project manage these improvements to deliver them in an acceptable and agreed timeframes
  • To report of these improvements at the Regional Board meetings.

Regional Head Office responsibilities

To manage the central functions of:

Transport and Logistics

Internal Sales

Central Planning

Purchasing/Procurement

Stock Control

  • Provide progressive leadership and direction to teams
  • Measure and review the performance of these functions and instil a strong continuous improvement ethos .
  • Ensure these teams provide the highest service levels to internal and external customers.
  • To deal with Line Management issues in accordance with company policies and practices.
  • To report on behalf on these functions at Regional Board meetings.
  • To execute Regional strategies through these functions as required.
  • To work closely with the wider Group to explore synergies and identify best practise adaptations.
  • To identify talent within these functions and support their development within the Region.
  • Work closely with the Regional Board to evolve its strategic plans
  • To support the communication and execution of these strategies across the Region.
  • To support wider Group programmes as required.

Skills & Key Competencies

  • ILM/5/HNC/HND/Degree level and/or a relevant professional qualification.
  • Possess an essential leadership background in Manufacturing with a desirable range of knowledge on Purchasing, Distribution, Financies and Sales.
  • Have a working understanding of Environment, Health & Safety, FSC and quality management systems.
  • Have a good understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools within a high quality manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to build a high performance team with an exceptional eye for detail ensuring the highest levels of productivity and efficiency.
  • Possess the ability to implement and manage change in business.

We are seeking a multi faceted, solution focused and driven Operations Professional who understands complete financial control and business development along with the manufacturing, logistics and supply chain.

It is expected that you would be located along the A14 corridor as this would give you access to all sites.
