GENERAL MANAGER – AIRPORT LOUNGE OPERATIONS

Gatwick Airport

Up to £80K + Bonus and Benefits

My client is a one of the UK’s leading airport lounge services providers offering a premium service to their guests.

The company operate over 12 lounges at some of the UK’s busiest airports.

They are now seeking a General Manager to oversee and manage the entire operation at Gatwick airport

The General Manager will strategically manage the overall running of all functions within the lounge operations at Gatwick airport to include you having full accountability of delivering the strategy for the designated region, P&L, employee headcount and guest satisfaction in line with company expectations and reactive requirements.

General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all airport operations are fully compliant, in line with legislation, airport requirements, company practices and policies.

  • Complete budgetary compliance, including full P&L responsibility, capacity management, passenger targets, consumption and F&B related costs, staffing costs and other staff-related KPIs, and overall profitability and impact on group EBITDA.

  • Where necessary, implement new systems and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas.

  • Strategic and timely recruitment pipelining to ensure that all airport operations are staffed optimally.

  • Overview of all training requirements and personal development opportunities for all staff. Coaching, development and performance management of all level of airport management.
  • Involvement in appraisals for airport management teams.
  • Analysing and resolving quality and customer service problems
  • Ensuring all airport operations are aware of changes in pax flows, budget KPIs, onboarding and offboarding business, capex projects and any other reactive business requirements.

  • During menu changeover, ensuring all supply chains are robust and ensuring operational readiness.

  • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly consumption figures and staffing figures, reviewing and reporting on trends and identifying areas for cost-reduction.

General Manager Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience with a senior executive/general manager/director position within the hospitality industry

  • Proven management and leadership skills

  • Commercial acumen

  • Experience in developing staff

  • General Manager Salary and Benefits:

  • Base Salary to £80,000 + Bonus

  • Generous holiday allowance
