This company design, manufacture and install Aluminium & Steel Frames, External cladding & glazing projects for the new build commercial and residential schemes ranging in value from £10k up to £8.5 million
Packages they deliver include Lightweight Steel Wall Frames, Aluminium Curtain Walling, Windows, and Doors, Timber Composite Windows and Doors, Insulated Render Systems, Aluminium Rainscreen Systems, Stone / Granite Cladding Systems, High Pressure Laminate Rainscreen Systems & Timber Rainscreen Cladding.
As a result of expansion they are looking for a Procurement Officer to join their Commercial Management team.
As a Procurement Officer your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Source and procure products and services that are compliant with industry standards and technical specifications.
- Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options and develop plans for purchasing plant, services and products on a scheduled basis in line with safety, certification expiration dates.
- Create, maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications.
- Read construction drawings and technical specifications in order to prepare estimates costs and margin structures.
- Modernize procurement and project coordination and execution processes.
- Undertake audits on inventory/stock.
- Implement procedures with regard stock counts, pre-procurement slips and stock compliance.
- Negotiate with suppliers for improved pricing and delivery.
- Forecast inventory/stock needs in line with projects and engineering requirements.
- Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price and contractual requirements.
- Travel to and attend project meetings as required to gather information on materials needed, labour required, and other factors.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- An ability and experience of reviewing technical drawings and technical specifications
- Construction sector experience
- A track record of identifying suppliers that produce/supply technically compliant products and services
- Experience of auditing suppliers
- Experience of managing procurement processes
- Experience of negotiating contracts to supply
- Experience of managing and maintaining an up to date list of supplier and their qualifications
In return the successful candidate will be rewarded with a salary ranging between £25k-£35k (DoE) Pension and 25 days annual leave.
