This unique and newly created opportunity will be to oversee the continuous improvement of a large spend, purchasing within one of the world's leading FMCG businesses, across multiple packaging categories (paper, corregate, plastics.....).

The role will require someone who has a strategic procurement background and has the ability to manage a large, global and complex spend.

With a presence in over 100 countries, they have a long history with the UK food market and is looking to hire talented individuals into the procurement function that will add value to an already vibrant team.

With revenue in excess of £10 billion per annum and close to 10,000 employees globally, they are a market leader in their sector. The packaging group in the business is growing rapidly and has increasing demand from blue-chip customers, for sourcing sustainable packaging and paper.

Description

The role has Strategic responsibility for all of the packaging spend globally, ensure that saving are made and quality is kept to the highest standard. The role will be to lead best practice across all packaging materials, developing strategy, leading projects and keeping the highest level of stakeholder relationships both internally & externally.

Overview of the role:

  • Deliver savings and manage procurement process
  • Negotiate supplier agreements and agree contracts across multiple suppliers

  • Develop vital relationships with complex internal suppliers
  • Work closely with customers to delivery key objectives

  • Host project meetings and update those within the team plan

  • Grow internal and external stakeholder relationships from top to bottom

  • Manage supply chain and risk across all packaging categories reviewed

  • Develop expertise within packaging categories and be the "got to" person for advice

Profile

The successful candidate must have:

  • 7 years plus experience within packaging procurement
  • Experience managing multiple internal stakeholders
  • Experience working closely with an end user or customer
  • Strong Stakeholder management
  • Articulate and adaptable
  • Self drive
  • Ability to work autonomously

Job Offer

£60,000 to £70,000

+ car allowance £8,100

+ 15% Bonus

+ 25 days holiday
