Supply Chain Manager

West Midlands - Commutable from Rugby, Warwick, Coventry, Leicester and Tamworth

c£55k - £60k neg dep exp + benefits

Our client has been established for more than a century and is renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are urgently seeking to recruit a highly self-motivated, proactive and dynamic Supply Chain Manager to provide direction to the UK Supply Chain team in both a strategic and highly operational capacity, and ensure that various divisions achieve cost and delivery objectives for raw materials as well as resolving problems or issues that may affect the group as a whole.

Based near Rugby and reporting to the Operations Director in an environment where the annual tooling, components and raw materials spend is around £15m each year, the successful candidate will provide proactive direction and leadership to the Supply Chain team to ensure timely deliveries, consistently acceptable quality levels and lean flow of materials in line with contractual obligations and the company financial objective, whilst both establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure ongoing value-added opportunities and optimal procurement strategies are maintained as well as established purchasing processes are adhered to including supplier risk assessments, negotiation and contract generation.

Whilst highly operational, the Supply Chain Manager role essentially necessitates a "hands on" approach and as a member of a focussed and professional team, you will work with other departmental heads to improve overall throughput and cycle times whilst reducing inventory levels.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Supply Chain Manager opportunity it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant qualification with CIPS certification proving advantageous. You will essentially demonstrate at least 5 years materials management and supply chain experience - preferably gained within a manufacturing environment, and will possess exceptional negotiation, analytical and organisation skills along with effective communication and influencing skills at all levels.

Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of ERP systems (PLEX preferred) and will assume responsibility for an effective cycle counting program, inventory accuracy and annual physical inventory activities.

Comfortable in motivating project teams and both implementing and sustaining continuous improvement activities across the division, you will be confident in working within a dynamically changing price environment whilst achieving cost reductions, demonstrating excellent business acumen and customer focussed skills whilst maintaining a composed and resilient style of management.
