We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join our client based at their Carlisle office. This is a great opportunity for an experienced buyer to play a pivotal role in supporting the purchasing function. To act as the point of contact within the organisation for the procurement of Industrial Services, new machinery and spares. Main responsibilities will include:
* Introducing new suppliers into the business, when appropriate.
* Independently undertake contract and tendering activities
* Working closely with internal budget holders to deliver best value
* Supplier management and procuring of a selection of goods and services
* Supporting the business through identification of cost reductions
* Liaising with suppliers to solve issues and build business relationship
* Following group/local purchasing procedures
* Analysing data, enabling service and cost opportunities to be identified
It is expected that the successful candidate will work closely with other sites both in the UK and Europe, therefore the role will require periodical travel. To be successful in your application for this role it is key that you have some purchasing experience and ideally worked within manufacturing.
