Our client, a leading blue-chip organisation, are recruiting a Buyer / Contract Officer on a 12 month contract basis to join their existing procurement function, based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

The Buyer / Contract Officer position will support the procurement cycle, aiding in tactical operational procurement.

Essential Job Functions:

* To provide procurement support to business stakeholders.
* To support the refinement and communication of the procurement to achieve the desired outcomes of the stakeholders.
* Support Cost Saving Targets across the portfolio; cost avoidance and value add projects.
* To provide procurement support to all business projects and business areas across a wide range of categories, processing contracts and potential suppliers to guide effective sourcing decisions.
* Aid in the Supplier Selection process.
* Perform all activities in compliance with relevant standards and specifically.

Requirements:

* Good communication skills, both written and oral.
* Good analytical skills.
* Good personal organisation.
* Strongly numerate and computer literate (particularly Excel).
* Ideally a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
* Working towards CIPS Qualification.
* Demonstrates ongoing commitment to achieve personal and team goals.

Salary:
£30,000 - £35,000 + pension, holiday, flexible benefits.
