Fantastic opportunity to work for a volume residential builder in the West Midlands

Your new company

I am currently working with one of the UK's leading home builders who are looking to expand there operations team with a 2 Contracts Managers.

Operating for over 30 years, my client currently employs over 1,000 members of staff operating across 7 regions in England with new projects stretching from Cheshire in the north to Hampshire on the South Coast.

Building everything from apartments and starter homes through to 5 and 6 bedroom family houses, my client is dedicated at delivering schemes from smaller developments of around 100 dwellings to larger urban extensions with thousands of new homes and supporting infrastructure.

As well as building for the private market, my client has also built strong relationships with a range of housing associations, councils and other public sector agencies, providing affordable, quality homes in sustainable locations.

Your new role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement project strategy and delivery programme to ensure effective communication and implementation to deliver the programme on time
  • Review performance against target and identify and manage risk and opportunities
  • Lead the project team to ensure its balance and shape to deliver the project
  • Promote and maintain the highest level of health and safety and environmental management
  • Develop and monitor project strategies in order to achieve the sustainability objectives
  • Develop and drive the team to ensure we deliver a quality build in accordance to the requirements of the project
  • Develop and manage customer relationships
  • Adopt the principles of the considerate constructor's scheme and manage community relations
  • Recruit, reward and retain and develop the best people
  • Manage the project handover and ensure defect free
  • Shape best practise and drive continuous improvement


What you'll need to succeed

In order for you to succeed, the individual must possess the following competencies:

  • Relevant experience at a similar level
  • Up to date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation
  • Proven track record of motivating staff and managing a site effectively
  • Capable of implementing change
  • Decision maker with pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • CSCS card at site manager level
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate
  • Essential for individual to have experience within the volume residential sector.


What you'll get in return

The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary of between £80,000 and £90,000 dependant on experience. Alongside this, you will receive a substantial package which includes Company Car / Car Allowance equivalent of £7,500, 26 days annual leave, private medical cover and up to 20% salary bonus.
