Cordant People are proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of their long standing clients for a Junior Buyer located in Wednesbury. This is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and genuine career prospects.

This position is responsible for managing the stock profile of their relevant commodity groups to ensure optimum service level while minimising overstocks and obsolescence situations.

Duties

Daily ordering from suppliers as per recommended buying guide
Liaising daily with suppliers for order progressing to prevent back order situations
Analysing potential back-order situations and discussing with product management for alternative solutions
Adjusting opal factors for achieving optimum service level while minimising stocking levels
Liaising with Product Managers regarding pricing, new products, and phase-in phase out of products
Dealing with delivery discrepancies from suppliers with warehouse
Assisting Product Managers in supplier meetings by providing information, such as supplier lead time performance.
Dealing with Branch invoice queries with Purchase Ledger
Comply with Health & Safety legislation, procedures and processes

The ideal person will be educated to degree level within logistics (or equivalent) and have previous knowledge or experience within purchasing.
