Our client in Bedford are looking for a permanent full time Purchasing Associate.

Providing Administrative support to the purchasing department by assisting with the procurement of goods, materials and consumable items.

Maintain sound relationships with vendors.

Actively interface with various suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials to the facility in order to ensure superior customer satisfaction.

Purchasing Associate Duties

• To enter purchase requisitions onto the SAP computer system.
• To generate purchase requirements from MRP. Analyse and review the needs prior to placing orders.
• Print and place purchase orders by post, fax or e-mail.
• Receive acknowledgements for POs and update the system if necessary.
• Expedite late deliveries and maintain revised delivery dates in the system.
• Prepare and type correspondence, debit notes on supplier returns, letters, reports and advice notes.
• Receive advice notes and prepare input for goods receiving via computer.
• Assist with the upkeep of stationery material, making sure that adequate stocks are maintained.
• Integrate and assist the purchasing team with everyday duties. To cross check all purchase orders with acknowledgements.
• Assist the Operations department and cover in their absence.
• Participate fully in the implementation of lean manufacturing, the continuous improvement process and maintaining ISO9001 certification.
• Take up additional duties as assigned to you.
