Prosper Recruitment are working in partnership with a small property developer of new build houses who due to increased projects need to recruit an Assistant Site Manager/Buyer to support the Operations Manager in his daily duties, this is a ‘hand’s on’, busy role with lots of variety and excellent career enhancement opportunities for the right person.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the management of the Sub-Contractors day to day processes
- Making sure all material suppliers are available and get to site correctly and on time
- Assisting the Site Manager and potentially speaking on behalf of him/her when necessary
- Assisting in driving the site forward
- Ensuring build programs and schedules are met and any problems are dealt with quicklyand effectively
- Paying particular attention to finishing's of properties
- Identifying potential suppliers and new products
- Contacting a range of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations
- Agreeing delivery times
- Keeping detailed records and maintaining well-organised work schedules
- Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials
- Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services
- Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers
- Develop strong relationships with existing suppliers
- Processing purchase orders and delivery notes
Competencies:
- SMSTS
- First aid at work
- Knowledge of H&S
- Knowledge of suppliers in construction industry
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Competent user of Excel Spreadsheets is essential
