If the answer is yes then please consider the below role as I am currently looking for a Materials Buyer to work for a large scale national construction company based in the Birmingham area. This is a permanent, full time opportunity.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Buyer you will be responsible for the purchasing of building materials and goods while also supporting the Senior Buyers within the team with the procurement of services. You will also help provide best practice and cost saving measures within the business to maximise profits and minimise risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Procure goods and materials in line with specifications and budget

• Support the senior members of the team with the procurement of services

• Identify and analyse documents from internal and external stakeholders (Eg. Terms of finance and project specifications)

• Support the companies purchasing strategy

• Maintain regular and professional communication with suppliers, both new and existing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Proven experience of procurement within construction projects

• CIPS qualification (desired) Or relevant experience/qualification

• Proven time management and organisational skills

• Experience of working with Oracle
