Illuminet Recruitment is currently looking for a Project Manager for a 2 year Fixed-term position based in Leeds. Prior experience working in the Rail and Transport industry is essential. Ideally, the candidate will be happy to engage with both the development and delivery activities of the projects and ensuring the documentation, and compliance procedures are agreed upon.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply understanding of relevant project and programme management standards and procedures
  • Ensure that appropriate Project Documentation for all designated projects is put in place
  • Projects and programmes managed in compliance with agreed procedures and guidelines established by PMS
  • Undertake systematic project reviews and agree action plans to address issues raised throughout the project lifecycle

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of leading defined projects/programmes of work within the rail industry.
  • Sound understanding of project and programme management principles.
  • Experience of leading defined projects or programmes of work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience of matrix management and leading project teams.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Requires proven project management experience across a range of relevant projects, and a relevant professional qualification.
  • Leads a range of small, and occasionally complex projects.
  • Assumes developmental responsibility for other project specialists
  • Ability to compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports for a range of political, professional and lay-person audiences.
