Senior Category Manager - Leading London Hospital
£45k - £55k + 10% Bonus and car allowance
A clinical procurement specialist is sought by a leading London hospital. The hospital is opening new buildings and wings to allow increased specialisation in the surgical and clinical categories and they aim to deliver world-class services to their millions of patients.
The successful procurement category manager will have a stsrong background in purchasing surgical items and machinery such as CT/CP Scanners, radiology and more.
With regular contact with the Head of Clinical Procurement, this is a chance to set the strategy for the coming years, work with your team of buyers and category managers to execute said strategy.
The challenge in this role will lie in managing a range of stakeholders including surgeons, clinicians, suppliers as well as director/board level staff and ensuring compliance with your procurement principles as set forth in your strategy.
What will the role entail?
- Implement and execute the Clinical category strategy
- You will ensure that all clinicians and surgeons' needs are met and they have the required materials and equipment to deliver world-class treatment
- Take the lead on strategically sourcing suppliers and working end to end throughout the procurement projects
- You will establish and cultivate relationships for the long-term with some of the biggest suppliers in the Health and Medical industry
- Line-manage a team of Buyers, Category Managers

- A CV that demonstrates strong individual savings
- Strong negotiation skills
- A strategic and strong commercial mindset
- Professionalism and confidence when managing and influencing senior stakeholders
- OJEU experience and MCIPS advantageous
- Degree educated to 2.1 level or above
