A leading major national retailer with over 400 retail stores are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Fashion Menswear Buyer to help deliver their strategic plans.

The company focuses on successfully delivering fast fashion, excellent quality and superb value with the aim to be the leading fashion multi-channel retailer.

We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious, driven and highly motivated Senior Menswear Buyer across all departments to play their part in driving the business forward, with the primary function of the role to develop ranges to maximise sales and profit, aligned to brand market position/value.

Responsibilities/ Objectives:

Exceptional understanding of key market trends.
Continuously monitor competitor/industry performance and developments.
Create business plans for newly identified opportunities, incorporating key pricing and - merchandising strategies.
Plan and agree the sales/margin and stock budget with the Merchandisers and Head of Buying.
Source, select and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum product, prices and terms of contract.
Undertake selection of all new products.
Gather, analyse and interpret product, market and customer information in order to forecast future demand patterns for supply chain requirements.
In conjunction with Merchandising, monitor and control the range to ensure budgeted stock turn, margin and profit targets are achieved.
Manage the range plan to maximise customer service levels.
Work with the Trading and Marketing Managers to resolve commercial problems.
Conduct range presentations to Senior Management and the Board when required.
Utilise historic data and trends, plan and implement the product strategy for area's in conjunction with the Merchandiser to meet agreed sales and margin objectives.
Ensure range plans, product brief, design brief, fabric brief, fit sessions, colour issue etc are completed in full to agreed dates within the critical path and are progressed effectively internally and externally.
Working with design, visual merchandising and marketing ensuring effective planning and implementation of window strategy/visuals/photography, range manuals, layout and guidelines etc.
To have a full awareness of all legal and safety standards.
Supervise the workload and appraisal of Assistant Buyers.
