Purchasing & Office Assistant – We are advertising for a leading supplier of composite decking and GRP products with over 22 years' experience. They are looking for a Purchasing & Office Assistant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. In return, we are paying this Purchasing & Office Assistant a basic salary of £16,000 to £20,000 depending on experience.

Job Purpose:

To assist with the smooth running of the purchasing function from their UK suppliers using relevant software to ensure the timely arrival and administration of the correct stock. Carry out a range of tasks to allow the office function to be executed smoothly and maintain excellent customer service.

As Purchasing & Office Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Receive and distribute deliveries sent to HQ
  • Procure all consumables in an orderly and timely fashion
  • Input monthly credit card purchases to ExpenseIn application, requesting any VAT receipts required
  • Undertake weekly stationery and weekly sundries checks and raise orders as required – maintaining the stationery tracker weekly
  • Procure any office furniture & IT equipment as needed and monitor deliveries
  • Undertake all travel bookings as requested including hotels, flights, hire cars etc. Including for Chinese supplier visiting the Company.
  • Manage everything facilities related i.e. sanitary bins, paper recycling etc.
  • Send PI & PL to shipping Agent and advise of correct HS code for clearance
  • Book and manage container deliveries to Dura ensuring that charges are kept to a minimum and liaising with Ops to work alongside their workload
  • Create WPC/PVC & GRP load plans
  • Keep production Schedule & Sage up to date & track suppliers promise dates, amend relevant systems and comm’s where necessary.
  • Produce and update overseas and IT container schedule; provide this to overseas customers on behalf of the international team
  • General office duties including; answering the telephone, manning the reception desk, welcoming visitors, managing post etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Previous administrative experience in an office environment is essential
  • Ability to organise a demanding workload and to prioritise tasks on a daily basis
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent face to face and telephone communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Sage 200
  • Purchasing/Supplier experience desirable

This is a full time, permanent position offering a basic salary of £16,000 to £20,000 depending on experience.
