Employee Relations Advisor - Supply Chain

Based: Milton Keynes

Type: Full time / Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Excellent Benefits.

To support the continued success and growth of the business we are looking for an ER Advisor to provide input into the People Strategy on Employee Relations, translating these into site specific People Plans. Support Supply Chain managers through ongoing coaching to develop skills and techniques to manage change and employee issues, whilst being a key player in establishing HR credibility, taking a proactive approach to ER within Supply Chain.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Implement fit for purpose ER programmes through collaborative working with Supply Chain business leaders to identify and address ER challenges in the short, medium and long term
  • Preparation of required documentation to support our end to end ER processes
  • Contribute to the ongoing review of ER associated processes and practices ensure all remain legally complaint and fit for purpose
  • Support analysis of ER trends across the business through maintaining accurate and detailed records
  • As required support the broader HRSS function
  • Support effective case management of people related issues such as disciplinaries, changes to workforce planning, performance management, employment tribunals, conflict and grievance resolution, welfare and absence management
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of new policies, staff handbook, support guides and processes within Supply Chain to enhance capability and reflect current and future employment legislation
  • Provide expert advice on ER related matters, taking a balanced view of issues, considering the bigger picture, Company policy, procedures and legislative requirements when giving advice and coaching teams to use good judgement, ensuring the appropriate resolution at all levels
  • Lead by example, embedding values in all areas and provide coaching and guidance where these are not being lived
  • Positively support change by understanding Corporate and Supply Chain specific change programmes and strategies, maintaining momentum through prioritisation, clear communications, timely execution to embed and sustain whilst preserving levels of high engagement
  • Effective Project Management, as and when required to be ensure implementation is delivered on time and within budget, to add value to the effectiveness of the Supply Chain operation and broader business
  • Drive culture of continuous improvement ensuring agreed departmental targets are achieved and exceeded whilst managing costs and performance in line with budgets and mitigating variances
  • Personal investment in continual development of own talents and strengths in both technical fields of expertise and behaviours

Person Specification:

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of current employment law
  • Experience in management of ER cases, policies and procedures
  • An understanding of Health and Safety Legislation
  • An understanding of Food Safety Standards

Experience:

  • Previous ER experience ideally gained within a manufacturing, logistics environment
  • Proficient in MS Office packages

Qualifications:

  • CIPD qualified (preferred, qualified or part-qualified)
  • Degree or relevant business experience
