A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a HR Operations manager to work, develop and oversee the delivery of a Local Authority’s HR Operations team. Reporting directly into the Director of OD & HR, the role involves the management of the HR Advisory, Policy and HR-MI functions with circa 14+ staff.

The role

With a new strategic plan being developed, our Client is continuing to transform their services for the benefit of their residents during a time of increased financial pressure and public scrutiny in a social media aware, digital age. It’s therefore an exciting time to join them at the Local Authority, and Lead the HR Operations Team Services whilst helping develop and re-shape their services to ensure a highly performing culture that is fit for the future.

What they are looking for

With its energetic, creative and diverse local communities, the borough today is a successful and cosmopolitan part of London. If you want to affect real change, and help build something special, then this is the place to be; where they value people who are adaptable, innovative and seek to make that positive change.

The HR service is at the heart of everything they do, and as the HR Operations Manager, you will be leading the way within an organisation that is committed to achieving through its people.

They are looking for an individual who can develop the most productive relationships with employees and their unions, ensuring that the management of people is in alignment with their business strategy. A fair and consistent approach to people management practice is needed whilst minimising risk and maintaining their reputation. You will drive organisational change by ensuring the business is supported by effective people management solutions and workforce transformation. To do this, you’ll manage a group of talented HR professionals providing expert advice, support and interventions for managers across their services.

You’ll need to show extensive previous experience of dealing with unions and senior stakeholders on a day-to-day basis. It’s imperative that you have an understanding of complex and multi stakeholder environments, as well as the ability to provide strategic policy advice and process implementation, and you’ll have worked within a large and diverse organisation.

The Client is a high performing and innovative organisation with an astute sense of managing resources, making sure the services they provide are the best they can be and working every penny of taxpayers' money as hard as they can. Amongst the other benefits of working for them, not least the career and development opportunities, they offer you those you can expect from any organisation with a commitment to people like them and excellent transport links in and beyond London.

In return, they will offer you excellent development opportunities, plus a range of benefits that includes a career average pension scheme, flexible working and the opportunity to make a real difference to the local community.

The client reserves the right to close adverts early if there is a large response
