Your next employer can and they're currently looking for a procurement specialist to join their purchasing team and assist with the New Product Development team and on-going projects within the business. The company strives to be at the forefront of their industry, constantly coming up with ideas that will be house-hold names even if the company won't be and they need someone who can work in a fast paced, dynamic and forward thinking environment.

Day to day responsibilities?

You'll be providing pro-active support to the Product Development teams with their project launches by making sure that you re able to offer up multiple options when it comes to using new ingredients and packaging. A few other key daily tasks will include:

Successfully identify, negotiate and source new ingredients and packaging
Contribute ideas as part of the brainstorms in the build up to the projects, identifying potential challenges and solutions
Liaise with Group Procurement to assess existing and new suppliers for raw materials to allow for expansion in New Product areas
Assess and identify unattainable elements within the supply of ingredients and packaging e.g. minimum orders
In order to work to the high standards set by your future employer the skill set and experience needed is demanding and as a minimum you will need to have:

Working experience and proven track record of being successful in purchasing with a fast paced Food manufacturing environment
CIPS qualification, ideal in full but part will be considered
Experience in outlining project costs and an ability to highlight the benefits and subsequent impacts
Self-motivation and understanding to be able to offer research and support for innovation and have the confidence and self-belief to highlight challenges and offer solutions
This role for the right person can offer so much scope for career development but in order to be successful you will need be able to identify solutions, not just problems and also have experience of previously working alongside New Product Development in a Procurement/Buyer role. Having experience in Food Manufacturing is essential for this role. For the right person, they will consider the role being based in Bury St Edmunds however, ideally it will be in Cambridge.
