Nigel Wright are recruiting for an experienced Freight Business Development Manager to join a growing freight forwarder based in the North East. The company are well established with locations around the country, but are looking to grow their Newcastle branch.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starting business development manager with previous experience in freight forwarding, business development and account management.

The Role

  • Identifying, prospecting and securing new business across all freight services
  • Negotiating pricing, up-selling and cross-selling additional services where appropriate
  • Day-to-day account management of existing customers
  • Act as a key point between customer and supplier once jobs are in transit and "live"
  • Proactively work to achieve and exceed company targets

Person Specification

  • Previous sales experience in Freight with a demonstrable record of securing new business
  • A real go-getter who's capable of building their own business unit from scratch
  • Excellent at building relationships and managing existing customer accounts
  • Determined, motivated and resilient sales person who's looking for career progression
