Buyer – Equipment Category Buyer
Are you an experienced Buyer looking for a new challenge? We are a rapidly growing company with ambitious plans looking to double our sales within the next 5 years. We are looking for a commercial savvy Buyer to take charge of our equipment category and help refine our systems and processes. With an established team to support you and a range of projects for you to get stuck into, we will keep you stretched and challenged.
The Equipment Category Buyer’s core responsibilities will include:
* Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Monitor sales and margin performance of the category and drive KPI’s of, stock levels & margin
* Develop new, and manage existing supplier relationships, costs, service and continuous improvement
* Escalate and deal with critical supply chain issues
* Carry out all procurement processes for this category of goods, covering stock control, inventory management and replenishment
The successful Buyer will have the following experience and skills:
* Equipment buying experience is highly preferable, and an aptitude for understanding the technical features of our range
* Experience of purchasing goods & services in the ‘Indirects’ category
* Experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
* High level of computer literacy, to include MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
* Experience of using ERP systems, preferably Sage, and an understanding of different forecasting tools
* Effective communication; leading complex negotiations with suppliers
* Understanding of how terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services are negotiated and written
* Be familiar with import processes & documentation for purchases from EU, Asia & USA
Excellent Rewards:
* Salary £25,000 to £28,500 dependent on experience
