We are recruiting on behalf of our Derby based client, a well established precision engineering company for a Buyer
Duties -
*Day to day management of designated suppliers
*Manage supplier performance through agreed targets.
*Lead monthly order book reviews with designated suppliers to identify performance improvements.
*Work with suppliers to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities.
*Identify/implement process improvements to reduce waste and maintain a competitive advantage.
*Manage inventory levels to an optimum level to ensure business continuity.
*Ensure internal systems are kept up to date with supplier inputs in accordance with internal measures
What we are looking for -
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in using a computerised ERP system as well as Microsoft Office
- Previous working in an engineering environment
What's in it for you -
- Full time role, working 39 hours (flexi-time)
- Salary approx £30k per annum
- Non-contractual profit related pay, life assurance
