An exciting interim opportunity has come to the Glasgow market for an experienced Procurement Manager looking for a fixed term contract (maternity cover.)

Our client is a leading public sector body based in South Side of Glasgow. This role will report into the Head of Operations and will be responsible for ensuring effective purchasing decisions are made to maximise margins and ensure supply chain runs efficiently.

Key Duties & Responsibilities;

Accountable for procurement team for tasks, resource planning, training needs and HR activities.
Work directly with senior management team and directors.
Maximise availability to ensure correct stock available for customer orders.
Benchmark within the market to ensure all procured product & services, margins are maximised.
Continue and manage Brexit procurement strategy to minimise impact for additional expenditure.
Centralise, manage and continuously improve MRP.
Ability to analysis data, volumes, trends and seasonal & customer demands.
Validate and authorise vendor long term product forecasts.
Accountable for all procurement with an expenditure of over 10M+ PA.
Plan procuring stock hold and manage availability for fulfilment to meet contractual agreement and provide solutions where required.
Manage end to end vendor relationships/contracts for 40+ vendors for product, services and utilities for all sites.
Manage vendor performance reviews, which entail order & delivery cycle, expenditure, product review, exploring new ranges, quality control, re-negotiation of price and payment terms.
Scope new client contract requirements and implement product range and supply chain.
Managed product catalogue and adapted to meet today's fashion and trends.
Create and provide documentation for company RFQ/RFI for contract tenders.
Maintain E Cats (electronic catalogue) of company product range.
Ensure company policies and procedures are compiled to including to health and safety standards. Skills & Experience Required;

Strong procurement and management experience.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Exceptional relationship and client management skills.
Customer focused.
Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Effective results driven approach to performance management.
Able to work under pressure.
Attention to detail with right first-time ethos.
Proficient level of using software Microsoft. What's on Offer;
