Supply Chain Co-ordinator - Fixed Term Contract
Our client, a Global supply chain management organisation, have a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or an experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to join their expanding team in Chorley.
You will be expected to execute Supply Chain activities associated with current contract due to a recent influx in in business. This position is to start on a fixed term contract of 6 months, with progressions for a permanent career.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provide first line support to all customer queries received via phone and email around:
* Ensure purchase orders are placed on suppliers in a timely manner and suppliers conform to minimum delivery requirements including on time delivery etc. to ensure that the availability KPI is met.
* Resolve with the relevant party any inquiries in relation to supply of product
* Liaise effectively with warehouse employees and third party transport providers, ensuring any identified issues are resolved in a timely manner.
* Expedite/De-expedite products from supplier. Ensure responses are accurately loaded to Msys to ensure the appropriate stock levels and back order fulfillment
* Ensure any issues emerging from the supplier expediting process across all vendors are dealt with or escalated in a timely manner
* Support the excess stock disposal process ensuring the best delivery of value to the company
* Operate as part of team to ensure cover is provided across the client’s working day including out of hours where required
* Work collaboratively with internal departments such as the reporting, planning, purchasing and technical teams
* Lead or participate in supplier meetings to drive improvements in performance
* Compilation of ad hoc reports/ad hoc data input
* Make recommendations for process improvements based on knowledge/experience
* Client Specific Tasks which may include: Customer delivery, loading system data, depot resupply orders, keying customer demands providing acknowledgement and highlighting discrepancies, stock takes and management.
What skills do I need?
* Educated to at least GCSE level with Maths & English as a minimum (Essential)
* A Masters/Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience within similar roles (approx. 3 years in supply chain/logistics)
* Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate internally and externally with Suppliers.
* Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
Working hours for this role at Monday - Friday office hours.
