Main Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the accurate booking in and out of all items and be able to cover all of the logistics functions including delivery of the equipment via the Company vans
Key Responsibilities
* To receive in all goods delivered to the company.
* Carry out inspection of goods received - checking for damage to, quantity of and quality of items received.
* Entering of all goods received on to the computer system and correlating the items received to the purchase order to ensure our order requirements are fulfilled.
* To be responsible for the goods in / out / stores areas to comply with Health and Safety, and to generally to maintain it in a tidy and orderly way.
* To accurately pick stock items in accordance with the outgoing paperwork ensuring conformance to the customer’s requirements.
* To adequately package all orders for safe delivery to the customer.
* To liaise with the various carriers used for delivery to customers.
* To use the company computer system to maintain accurate records, carry out stock transfers etc.
* To keep the working area / stores free of hazards as per the company’s health and safety policy.
* To be as flexible as possible with working hours at times of heavy workload.
* To provide cover for the drivers as and when needed to ensure continuity of service for the customer and reduce the requirement to use Agency staff for this role
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
* Excellent practical driving skills
* Full clean driving licence
* The ability to work quickly and to tight deadlines
* Lifting and carrying skills
* Attention to detail is key
* The ability to complete record sheets and paperwork
* Reliable timekeeper
* Experienced in customer interaction
* Computer literate with Office Packages
