Job Title: Procurement and Supply Chain Manager
Salary & Benefits: Circa £40,000 depending upon experience with Excellent Benefits Package
Location: Torquay, Devon
The Procurement & Supply Chain Manager will play a pivotal role in the Manufacturing Team to develop and deliver Manufacturing strategies and objectives whilst leading the supply chain teams in the associated sites. He/she will also form part of the global procurement team playing a leading role in the development of Group Procurement Strategy, Policy, Processes and Tools.
Procurement & Supply Chain ManagerRequirements:
- Degree in engineering, business or science related field preferred
- CIPS Qualification is preferred
- Technical experience preferable
- Be current with industry standard accreditations in order to apply to supplier chain where appropriate
- Be fully versed in scorecard KPIs, understand how Supply Chain actions and strategy effects site performance
- Extensive experience in a procurement and supply chain role with leadership responsibility
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferably within Aerospace and Defence would be ideal
- In depth knowledge and experience of running MRP systems
- Significant experience in developing and managing overseas Supply Chains
- Understand fully all system tools and ensure correct implementation by procurement personnel
Procurement & Supply Chain ManagerResponsibilities:
- Implementation of Group supplier contracts within the Manufacturing Centre
- Implementation of global strategies, process and procedure and development of strategies as appropriate
- Provide leadership and management for the on-site supply chain teams. Define organisation structure, succession and development plans for all supply chain personnel
- Defining and implementing business stream commodity strategies to support the requirements of the Manufacturing Centre including low cost sourcing, off set, exchange rate mitigation
- Provide relevant Procurement Data and information during the annual Budget and Strategy Process, followed by ownership for delivery of the material budget
- Agree supplier quality and delivery targets and report on actual vs target
- Ensure appropriate action plans are implemented including the chargeback to suppliers of justifiable costs derived through poor quality and/or delivery performance
- Achieve cost reduction plans in line with procurement targets and run all necessary action plans to ensure delivery of budget target
- Play a lead role in S&OP Process and minimise the use of Discrete PO's and replace with forecasting mechanism to supply base
- Delivery of inventory objectives through appropriate use of short term actions whilst increasing the use of Forecasting and JIT and Pull Techniques
- Minimise risk to supply through the negotiation of long term agreements with key suppliers. Ensure all suppliers conform to all applicable laws and regulations
- Implement risk reviews and define and manage mitigation plans
- Ensure supplier compliance with all legal, regulatory and customer requirements
- Liaise with design engineering to develop supplier strategies
- Work with Sales in compiling new bids to customers to ensure correct tender process with suppliers
- Work with Programme Team and Site Management Team in agreeing Make v Buy on new programmes
- Working with Site Personnel responsible for NPI define and coordinate all procurement activity from supplier selection through to industrialisation
