We now have an exciting opportunity for Business Development Manager - Logistics to join a leading shipping & logistics company offering a complete logistics, freight forwarding & marine services with a globally known, world-class fleet
The role will be selling the companies multi-modal freight forwarding and logistics services throughout the UK with a base either in the Heathrow or Manchester region. Main trade lanes being USA, Far East, Middle East ideally we are looking for an air freight specialist but are open to all aspects of Freight experience.
There are no set territories, being nationwide our client has a broad range of products and would expect the successful candidate to find the right type of customer / business that they align selling a complete portfolio of services
Your role will involve the full freight sales cycle you will have a strong commercial presence, operational savvy, strong fiscal understanding and a desire to succeed and surpass targets.
Concentrating on 10-20 visits per week (75% of visits should be new / potential business) with 1 a day p/week office / home-based to write up visit reports
Knowledge of the Freight and Logistics market and previous experience in freight forwarding field sales is a pre-requisite.
You must be IT literate, well organised, have a proven track sales record and have the determination to succeed in a competitive market
