My highly regarded and well established client based in the Barrow are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join their team on a 12 month contract. There is a high possibility of this role going permanent following the completion of the 12 months, due to the business rapidly expanding. 

Working alongside an established team, the successful candidates roles and responsibilities will include: 

  • Negotiation of contracts, payment terms and prices, ensuring their progress is monitored throughout the cycle 
  • Setting up and updating supplier information on the system, ensuring accuracy at all times 
  • Placing orders against authorised requisitions 
  • Ensuring all goods conform to quality requirements and standards and that goods are delivered on time
  • Sending monthly scorecards to suppliers 
  • Keeping the approved supplier list up to date 
  • Building and developing relationships with new and existing suppliers 
  • Demonstrating an awareness of risk management 
  • Liaising closely with key stakeholders to ensure tasks and objectives are met in a timely manner 
  • Supporting continuous process improvement opportunities 

The successful candidate will: 

  • Have experience working within a procurement environment 
  • Ideally be working towards CIPS or hold a CIPS qualification 
  • Have the ability to understand technical drawings
  • Be organised, hard working and methodical with a keen eye for detail
