An award winning National House builder who build 600 units for the region annually are looking to recruit a Buyer to oversee the delivery of key house building schemes in the Midlands region.
The role:
As a Materials Buyer you will be responsible for the material scheduling for housing developments.
It's a difficult role, which is made easier due to various group deals that are in place. Although they are a national developer and have certain house types the buyer must treat every unit individually.
You will report to the Senior Buyer and Commercial Director. It's quite a flat hierarchy. The Commercial Director will support and develop you, empowering you to run with projects, but always on hand to discuss areas for improvement. They will give you clear objectives. You will need to learn to be adaptable and strong in your management style with a consistent approach with the site teams and subcontractors.

A National Housebuilder who build 14,500 houses annually across the UK. They are one of the UK's most successful house builders. Founded over 45 years ago with over 28 regional operating businesses building sites from Scotland through to the South West of England.
The Person:
It is likely you will have previously worked as either a Buyer,Assistant Buyer or a Purchasing role in a similar house building environment.
If this sounds appealing to you we will require:
A confident and a numerate professional who has experience as a Buyer and primarily with material scheduling. Someone who is self-motivated, asks questions, wants to learn and has a good work ethic. A HND qualification (or equivalent) in a Building related subject is highly desirable, although a good attitude to team working is more important. Someone who can administer systems would be at an advantage and training can be provided on the COINS system.
