Buyer (Engineering Consumables)
Wallsend
£Negotiable Salary
Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm
My client is an Engineering company, Based in Wallsend, Tyne & Wear. They now have a requirement for a Buyer. Reporting to the Operations Director, You will be responsible for purchasing all Engineering consumables for the business.
The Role
- Efficient and accurate use of Sage system to monitor all open purchase orders and ensuring the products are delivered on time.
- Work with the stores team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products.
- Assist the Project Managers with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis.
- Stock control.
- Budgeting.
- Strong negotiating skills with suppliers to get the best possible pricing and payment options, and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones.
- Comprehensive understanding of Sage 50, Excel and MS Word.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
Applicant requirements.
- You will have a previous proven background as a Buyer from a similar environment such as Engineering, Construction, Oil, Gas, Fabrication, Renewables, Shipbuilding etc.
- IT proficient (MS office, email, excel, word).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
