Purchasing Manager

£40k-£60k (dep on exp) + excellent benefits package
One of the UK`s most exciting technology development companies is looking for two additional Purchasing Managers to join their expanding procurement team, where you will be responsible for technically managing your vendors to deliver components and assemblies for next generation medical devices! You will be joining a truly exceptional company which are at the forefront of their industry, who believe whole heartily in the support, training and development of their staff.
The ideal candidates for these fantastic opportunities will have an electronics and/or mechanical engineering background prior to moving into technical buying / procurement and have previously worked in a similar environment where you have experience of bringing together new products (prototyping and material acquisition). The Purchasing Managers will each have their own small team of Buyers to lead - one being Mechanically biased, and the other Electronics. In return you can expect 1st class working environment and a very generation renumeration and benefits package.
Whether you are a Senior Technical Buyer looking to take your next step up, or currently a Purchasing Manager leading a small team…this role will allow you to develop your skills and knowledge-base further with a company set to revolutionise the healthcare/medical sector.
The Purchasing Manager will use their technical and commercial awareness to build robust relationships with not only key suppliers, but also that of the internals in Design, Quality and Industrialisation teams as you play the pivotal role as the link between the on-site engineers and the vendor/suppliers.
Ideally, the Purchasing Managers will have the following skills and experience:
A good degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience from within a similar highly regulated industry
Preferably having an electronics or mechanical engineering background with a good understanding of DFM
Proven track record in leading small buying teams to source top quality material for high-tech products
