Managing HCTED costs and variation is hugely important for the NHS and is a high priority for us here at Collaborative Procurement Partnership.

We are building a dedicated HCTED procurement team to deliver substantial buying savings in orthopaedic categories for the NHS through creative procurement initiatives. There has never been a more exciting time to join us.

We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to join our HCTED team and deliver a comprehensive service to NHS Trusts by providing a quality migration support service to their teams in support of the national programme. In this role you will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of our procurement service in the orthopaedic category (Tower 4)

You will foster a highly professional and responsive client service approach and act as the point of contact for the category, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders at Trusts, agreeing product changes, pricing and implementation plans for those NHS Trusts.

This will include:

  • Managing the evolving orthopaedic HCTED category across a number of NHS trusts
  • Managing the category programmes from tendering to contract award and ongoing relationship management
  • Performance manage against programme targets and ensure best value for money
  • Support the National Category Manager in the delivery of category plans (timescale, business revenue & margin, supplier management etc)

Who you are

Significant experience of category management from within the NHS, healthcare or other related sectors or you may have 5 years procurement/commercial experience in the medical devices sector, you will be

  • Results focused, responding naturally to pressure and demanding deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate good commercial acumen, attention to detail and previous category knowledge
  • An exceptional communicator and stakeholder manager with the ability to build and maintain an extensive network of contacts within the category
  • Highly developed numerical and analytical person with strong Excel knowledge
  • Already a car driver and willing to travel
