Senior Category/Contract Manager

£36,940 - £45,870 plus £1,750 location allowance and excellent benefits

Based Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

At FCO Services, your job will mean more. Government-level customers in the UK and around the world rely on us to keep information, assets and people safe. We do this by providing secure construction, secure logistics, and secure digital solutions. We build and renovate embassies. We make secure deliveries across continents. We help governments move servers securely to the cloud. And, by helping us deliver a strategic procurement service and enabling us to make smarter decisions about the products, services and suppliers we need, you’ll play an important role in our ongoing work.

Ensure integrated thinking at every level

Joining our Strategic Sourcing team, which combines experts in both procurement and contract management, you’ll find yourself in a very collaborative environment. Our work varies tremendously throughout the year, so you’ll be applying your procurement knowledge and stakeholder-management skills to an equally varied remit. As well as leading across a portfolio of projects to deliver cost and quality improvements, you’ll contribute to the development of our ICT Category Strategy and oversee all contract management activity. From tender processes to market analysis, policy framework to people management, you’ll be pivotal.

Put your expertise to greater use

As an expert in ICT procurement, you’ll be equally confident managing people, contracts and business functions. You’ll already have a working knowledge of procurement in a similar environment and be MCIPS qualified (or part-qualified), and you’ll understand the differences between private and public sector procurement work, and be both realistic and excited about the boundaries and challenges faced by a public body like ours.

Have a greater impact than you ever imagined

At FCO Services, our work protects the UK’s interests both at home and overseas. Our customers, who include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to their ever-changing security challenges. This gives every job here added significance and provides the ideal environment for you to hone your skills and expertise. Join us in this role and you’ll make a real impact on the procurement team, as you help deliver a more strategic approach to services needed around the world. In short – it’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared, so you will need to undergo a vetting process before joining.
