Senior Procurement Lead, Capital Projects - Global FTSE 250 Defence Firm - Surrey

Aggressively growing Defence giant seeks a Capital Procurement expert to lead an experienced team and develop world class strategies for the construction, design and implementation of capital projects.

As Senior Procurement Lead, Capital Projects you will skilfully engage with engineering, projects and constructions team to identify and deliver to their complex needs.

Senior Procurement Lead, Capital Projects role profile: -

• Display gravitas, authority and strong leadership to drive step change improvement in supplier quality, performance and supplier sourced innovation
• Roll out a performance management system to drive regional collaboration to support overarching global strategy
• Engage key stakeholders across the end-to-end supply chain and quickly establish a hold as the capital expert enterprise wide
• Design and implement best-practice procurement category strategies to support strategic organisational growth plans
• Build close partnerships and alignment across all global sites and regions where the materials & services are consumed
• Develop and embed best-in-class procurement processes and ways of working, championing new and revised systems across mature and emerging markets

Required background: -

• Impressive and progressive procurement & supply chain career history within blue-chip businesses, ideally within Construction, Engineering or Manufacturing industries
• Skilled negotiator with successful track record of delivering YOY savings in challenging sectors
• Creative thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of NEC3, JCT contracts preferred
• Proven leader of large procurement & commercial teams
• Degree, MBA, Lean Six Sigma qualifications preferred though not essential
