Job Details

This world-leading industrial gas company, which has been in operation for more than 75 years, is recruiting a Buyer (Indirects). The business is the world’s leading supplier of liquefied natural gas process technology and equipment.

As Buyer (Indirects) your key responsibilities will to:

  • Develop annual sourcing plans with clear priorities and saving targets
  • Define category spend, identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk reduction to generate better value for stakeholders.
  • Participate in all service level review agreements for the major existing contracts with suppliers and resolve commercial issues
  • Identify areas for improvements in procurement to pay process or any other process related to procurement, propose and implement the required change for improvement
  • Manage and resolve conflicts with existing suppliers related to service performance or other issues such as invoice discrepancy
  • Review terms and conditions and commercial terms for new contracts, work with legal team to ensure that all commercial and legal risks are mitigated through appropriate commercial and legal clauses
  • Engage stakeholders in the UK/IE Supply chain at all levels to get the required support on the recommended sourcing strategy. Develop relationships with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensuring procurement is engaged early in the buying process

Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain
  • CIPS qualification or working towards it
  • Significant years of experience in procurement mainly in the distribution and fleet maintenance category
  • Experience in contract formation, purchasing terms and conditions
  • Category Management
