Job Details

Our client is a leading UK Services business, listed on the London Stock Exchange, and with 5000 employees.  In the last 6 months, they have gone through a Procurement transformation, improving processes, policies and systems, and they have a requirement for a Purchasing Change Manager to join the central Procurement function on a 12 month fixed term contract.  It is very likely that this role will become permanent and it offers excellent career advancement.  

The business is looking to invest in enabling procurement technology to support the principles of standardisation, automation and ease of use.  There is currently a Procure to Pay tender under way and the Purchasing Change Manager will lead on this as well as see it through to implementation.

The role will involve the on-boarding and managing of the P2P technology for the Procurement team, on-boarding suppliers, managing "punch out" integration, developing policies and processes and working with strategic partners to drive continuous improvement.  

As a senior member of the Procurement team, the Purchasing Change Manager will also work closely with the Head of Procurement to help drive forward, and contribute to, strategic procurement initiatives.  This will include developing supplier risk assessment processes and supplier performance management programmes to improve quality, service, price and technology.   As the role evolves, you will have a small team of direct reports.  

What you will be doing:
• Working with key stakeholders to develop and define P2P policies and processes
• Produce training materials and deliver training to internal stakeholders on the use of procurement technologies
• Develop a strategic roadmap and execution plan that enables the development of a Procurement Centre of Excellence
• Work on a daily basis with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• Develop processes to create improved category management

Skills and experience required:

• Experienced (5 years+) procurement professional with experience of working in a customer-focused/services business, with experience in Indirect spend
• Proven experience in managing or implementing Purchase to Pay or Source to Pay technologies; Oracle is an advantage
• Experienced in driving procurement change
• Able to work, and lead, project teams
• Some experience in drafting, or understanding, procurement policies is an advantage
• Confident in presenting to senior stakeholders
• A good team player and highly organised
• Graduate calibre
