Contract Manager



One of our Luton based clients is seeking a Contract Manager to join their team. Within this position you will be responsible for ensuing that the business adopts a pro-active and consistent approach to all contract management activity. This will include efficiency reviews and supporting the sourcing, tendering, purchasing and ensuring that value for money is maximised for the benefit of the business, and the quality of supply is improved and cost savings are generated.


Contract Manager duties will include, but not limited to:
*Conduct efficiency reviews to ensure the business is receiving value for money
*Drive efficiency through effective contract management throughout the business, including monitoring expenditure and contract closure
*Adhering to the procurement policy and procedures across the business
*Working in partnership with operational budget holders and manage a significant strategic contracting activity
*Maintaining and managing the contract database, eSourcing tool and protocol for on-going supplier management. Including the creation, rationalisation and management of the preferred suppliers
*Negotiate contractual arrangement with suppliers, and ensure that the value for money is optimised across all categories of expenditure (Opex and Capex)
*Working with business managers to develop KPI's, and support the business managers with monitoring the suppliers services and performance
*Reporting and monitoring of strategic supplier performance
*Ensuring that the contract documents are maintained on the In-Tend portal

As the Contract Manager you will be required to possess:
*Previous experience working within a contract manager or contract officer position
*Experience conducting contract management using best practice, sourcing and managing large tenders
*An understanding or OJEU tender process and able carry out tenders
*Previous experience working alongside operational staff on procurement initiatives
*Demonstrate a track record of achieving significant cost savings, and negotiation with suppliers
*Strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills


With a salary on offer of up to £40,000 this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is either working within a contract management role currently, or someone who is looking for a step up in to their first contract management role.
