Buyer - Professional Services

The Role

The Coventry, the UK's 2nd largest Building Society, has an exciting opportunity to join an award winning Procurement & Supplier Relationship Management team as a Professional Services Buyer.

The main purpose of this role is to support the management of end to end supply chain activities across all areas of indirect services (covers all indirect, non IT categories) spend within The Society. You'll work with the Procurement Manager to identify effective procurement solutions delivering value for money and fit for purpose procurement solutions through a consistent and transparent process.

Additional duties will include but not be limited to:

• Delivery of category management procurement expertise and support to the Society’s business functions for all their procurement needs.
• Ensuring the Society delivers cost effective procurement solutions that deliver value for money, sit within the Society’s risk appetite and adhere to the Society’s procurement and contracting policies.
• Benchmarking and negotiation of existing 3rd party contracts ensuring competitive pricing is achieved and offering alternative solutions where switching to more cost effective providers are appropriate.

About You

Ideally you’ll be MCIPS qualified or working towards the qualification along with experience in a procurement role ideally within financial services.

You'll have experience of multi supplier environments as well as knowledge of a wide range of major suppliers, market knowledge, products and pricing models.

Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be in regular contact with both internal and external stakeholders and customers.
