Overview:

A rare opportunity has come up for this well-known Aerospace and Defence company in Cambridge who are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead and manage the full end to end Supply Chain activities across Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics for one of their key areas of the business. The ideal candidate will manage and direct the resources, facilities, functions and skills of the Supply Chain to provide effective support across the business.

What the role involves:

  1. Leadership and development of the Warehouse and Logistics area across the Supply Chain function including the development of technology, continuous improvement and improving performance.
  2. Supplier performance measurement, supplier operational reviews and supplier negotiations.
  3. Represent the Procurement & Supply Chain function at meetings with board and senior management
  4. Provide guidance and specialist advice to the business on all procurement activity across Logistics and Warehouse and ensuring an efficient business model for the distribution of key items across their supplier base
  5. To ensure that the supply chain delivers against its objectives and fully meets the business needs.
  6. Support of customer bids in providing Supply Chain solutions and Procurement input to Business Development.
  7. Analyse the supply chain effectiveness, identify and deliver improvements through people, process, and technology.

The person we hope to find:

  1. Experience of working in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment is an advantage
  2. Procurement category management experience in managing warehouse/ inventory and Logistics area
  3. Ideally experience of working in a complex matrix business
  4. Experience of managing teams in Procurement and Supply Chain environments
  5. CIPS/ MCIPS preferred but not essential
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary and Benefits:

£60-70,000 + great benefits
