Supply Chain Manager - Renowned Automotive Brand - Sussex

Due to an increase in demand, this unique opportunity has arisen for a new Supply Chain Manager to join this brilliant organisation in West Sussex to ensure the ongoing supply to the end customer. This role will see you report to the overall Head of Procurement and Supply Chain.

What the role involves:

1. Managing a team of capable Supply Chain and Purchasing individuals to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity across the production lines and to deliver out on time.
2. Manage a complex multicommodity global supply chain spanning niche volumes through to multi-national automotive conglomerates.
3. Recruit, manage and develop the supply chain team, including planning, warehouse, logistics and inspection.
4. Lead and deliver supply chain cost saving initiatives, including re-sourcing where necessary.
5. Liaise closely with the customer on their demand schedules and flow these through supply chain.
6. Manage and develop the organizations demand planning system.
7. Lead purchase contract negotiations to maximize component cost control and savings and to manage the supply of aftermarket parts to a third-party provider.

The person we hope to find:

1. Significant experience in (preferably automotive) Supply Chain management and will demand the highest standards in quality, efficiency, delivery performance and value for money. 
2. You will need to be hands on and able to quickly assess critical issues affecting the supply chain and provide an appropriate management response.
3. Good planning and commercial skills and ability to motivate and influence a team.
4. A real team player, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
5. Confidence in using ERP systems such as BAAN / SAP or an equivalent.

Salary and Benefits:

£55-65,000 + excellent benefits
