Category Manager - Award-winning food organisation - £60k + 25% bonus + company allowance

Going through a period of substantial growth, the leading global company within the food industry is looking for a high-achieving category lead to manage one of their largest spend areas. Having won multiple procurement awards, you will be working at the core of an industry leading organisation, with the autonomy to make significant decisions and manage spends of circa £80m whilst working collaboratively towards the goals of the wider organisation.

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance and delivery of the 'proteins' category, alongside developing your own team of buyers. You will use your expertise to execute strategy across the group, deliver cost savings and increase profits across multiple food categories.

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Working at both a strategic and operational level, the role holder will identify and deliver sourcing projects and category management to meet the needs of the business
  • Development and implementation of strategic procurement processes to deliver significant cost savings to the organisation
  • Sourcing from European & Global markets as appropriate for current and NPD products and provide market knowledge and insight for responsible categories and countries
  • Negotiate with key suppliers to ensure the best rates and cost savings are being delivered
  • Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers the role holder will deliver excellent customer service to their markets and promote and support the Group Procurement function and strategic plan

As a Category Manager, you will:

  • Demonstrate a track record of delivering cost savings within the food industry
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Be passionate about food and have a desire to develop your knowledge of the industry
  • Degree + CIPS desirable but not essential
